Generative UITurns agent replies into charts, diagrams, maps, plans and forms you can use, right in the chat. Agents choose from 86 components on their own, with no setup: sliders and filters recompute in the page, and buttons and forms send your pick back as your next message. Test reports, logs, lint errors and coverage files render as their own components instead of pasted text, and a thread's changes, commits, pull request and workers are read live from BB. Adds about 4,000 tokens of instructions to sessions whose replies you read, and looks up photos, places and map tiles on Wikimedia Commons, Photon and OpenStreetMap unless you turn web lookups off. Each thread gets a block for the time its agent turns ran, colored by project, in a day, 3-day, or week view. Doc ReviewLeave comments on Markdown, PDF, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and HTML files beside the chat, then hand them all to an agent in one message. Select text, draw a box around a chart on a page or slide, pick spreadsheet cells, or click any element of an HTML page, and each comment keeps its exact place; a comment on an area reaches the agent with an image of that region. Draw over an HTML prototype or a page to cross out a button, circle a block, or point an arrow to where something should move; the agent gets a picture of the page as you saw it with your strokes on top and, on HTML, the elements each stroke touches. Send the drafts to the current chat or to a new one, and each comment shows whether the agent is on it, closed it with a note on what changed, or answered with a question. Zoom pages with a pinch, the wheel, or the zoom bar and they re-render sharp, so a large drawing reads up close; a landscape or wide page keeps the document's scale and scrolls sideways, and a long document loads only the pages on screen. BallastKnow which thread is eating your RAM before the machine starts paging. Reads vm_stat page classes rather than the free percentage macOS reports, which counts inactive pages as free and stays reassuring while the box holds gigabytes of swap — pressure is graded on headroom, paging rate, compression and the kernel's own verdict, and the banner names the signal that decided. Consumers roll up by process tree and by BB thread, matched through worktree paths, so a 2.4GB row names a thread you can steer instead of six identical node processes. A guard can throttle BB concurrency, ask the hungriest threads to release memory, stop orphaned processes, or hand the problem to an agent — every one of those is off until you turn it on. Nothing is stopped unless nothing can still be waiting on it, and the apply step takes only ids the plan minted, re-checked against the live process table. macOS and Linux, no account or external service.Braedon Saunders31

HeraldHear one spoken sentence when an agent needs you, and see every waiting thread in one list. When a thread asks a question, waits for a plan or a permission to be approved, finishes its turn or fails, the bb app says which thread it is and what it needs, on whatever page you are on. A Herald page in the sidebar lists every thread waiting on you with its reason and sentence, and the same sentence sits above that thread's composer with a Read again button until you answer. Settings choose which kinds of event are announced, the voice and speed, and where to speak: the desktop app, a browser tab, or the mobile app while it is open. By default the sentence is built from the event itself, with no model or external service; optionally, Claude Code, OpenAI Codex, Gemini CLI or a command of your own, installed and logged in on the Mac running bb, writes it instead, for one short model turn per announcement. ExtellaLets agents reuse programs that earlier threads already wrote: search them by meaning, run them on your machine, save new ones. A thread that asks in different words still finds the saved program and runs it without writing code. Programs run on your computer through Extella Desktop and can read local files there; a run takes about 10 seconds. Later threads and other bb projects that use the same Extella agent see the same library. Hmm Floating TerminalKeep a shell open beside the project you are working in, without leaving the conversation for a panel or another app. The window follows the project: leave for another one and it steps aside, come back and its tabs return with the dev server still running. Shells belong to the project checkout rather than to a thread, so moving between a project's threads never costs you one. Sessions belong to BB, so closing the window leaves a build or an ssh session running and reopening replays the scrollback. Tick Trust this device once and that browser skips the prompt until the trust window ends. Forgot it?
