Context Katamari

What you get

Open the katamari button in the sidebar footer to get a small floating window with a 3D toy-box world. A tiny royal cousin rolls a katamari, and the ball's size tracks how much of the open thread's context window is used, measured against its auto-compact point when the provider reports one. A fresh thread is a speck among thumbtacks; a thread near its limit has rolled up towns, forests, and snowfields.

Reading the screen

• Size readout and flower gauge: tokens used out of the context window.
• Clock: percent of context left before compaction.
• Turn bars: one bar per recent turn, sized by how much context that prompt added. Hover a bar to see the prompt. Turns from before the plugin was installed have no bar.
• Last item: the most recent object the ball picked up.
• Stars: how many times the thread has compacted.

Press ? in the window for a guide that labels each of these.

What the cousin tells you

• He rolls on his own while the thread works and stands still when it is idle or waiting for you.
• When a turn finishes, the King reads out how much context it added. A heavy turn lands as a screen-shaking GULP.
• Past 50k tokens he leaves a trail of coins, because every turn now re-reads that much context.
• When bb compacts the thread, the ball pops and shrinks, and each compaction leaves the cousin a little dizzier.

Threads and controls

Each thread keeps its own cousin and ball. Switching threads rolls the previous cousin off screen and brings the next one in. Click inside the window and roll with the arrow keys. Drag the top handle to move the window and its top-left corner to resize it. By default it sits beside the thread pane instead of over it.

Requirements

bb 0.43 or newer. Runs entirely inside bb, with no external service or account. Music and sound effects are synthesized in the browser and can be muted.
