Start a thread from a floating composer without leaving the page you’re on. Open it with Mod+Shift+L, or hand off the current thread with Mod+Shift+H; both shortcuts can be rebound in Settings → Keyboard. Keep your draft and selections when you dismiss it, then start the thread in the background when you’re ready. Requires BB 0.42+ and uses your configured agent provider and account.

Start a thread from anywhere

Quick Compose opens BB's new-thread composer in a floating window over the page you're on. Press Mod+Shift+L (rebindable in Settings → Keyboard) or run Quick compose: new thread from the command palette.

Stay where you are

The composer starts on the project you're viewing. When you submit, it closes and the thread starts in the background, with a toast to open it. Press Escape or click outside to dismiss it without losing your draft, or the project and environment you picked.

Hand off a thread

On a thread, press Mod+Shift+H or run Quick compose: hand off this thread. The composer opens with an @thread mention of the thread you're on and reuses its environment by default.
